About Us

Building The Future is a Minnesota-based collaboration focused on creating a managed transition to warm, clean, affordable homes in connected communities.

Our state has over 1.6 million owner-occupied homes and over 600,000 rented homes.  These, plus the new homes being built, need to be affordable now and free of fossil fuel pollution by 2050, or even sooner.  This is a lot of work.  Home-by-home, block-by-block, and neighborhood-by-neighborhood, we need a transition that will work for everyone, every race & gender, every income, in every part of the state.

To get there, we’re advocating for state policy improvements and state investments in affordable housing, workforce development, and clean energy.  To secure those wins, we organize, advocate, and communicate both inside & outside the state capitol.  Our aim is to make sure all Minnesotans get to participate in the transition to an equitable clean energy future.

Building The Future was started by ISAIAH, Unidos, and 100%.

About Our Partners

ISAIAH is a multi-faith, multi-racial, state-wide and nonpartisan community organizing coalition in Minnesota. Our 200 member and partner congregations and mosques, 512 small and family owned childcare centers with Kids Count on Us, cooperative of Black churches and Black-owned barbershops, coalition of young adults, and network of rural of Minnesotans in the Rural Organizing Project create racial and economically equitable communities through intentional, intensive leadership development; collective, faith-based actions; and deep partnerships with grassroots organizations and public servants.

UNIDOS is an immigrant, queer, Latinx organization building power for racial & economic justice in MN. Formerly known as Navigate MN. Our lived experiences means that immigration, education and climate justice are at the core of our work and as such, our intersectional strategy centers our realities as un/documented youth, mixed-status Latinx families, LGBTQIA+ and differently-abled folks.

100% is bringing people together – people just like you – who believe we need an equitable clean energy future.  We believe that “to change everything, we need everyone”.  That’s why we create cross-sector, statewide, multi-racial campaigns to build an equitable clean energy future that works for everyone.  Based in Minnesota, grounded in people & organizational partners, we’re committed to improving lives while reducing greenhouse gas emissions in every sector of our economy.
